A job application tracker Claude keeps with you

Claude and Pando, for tracking job applications.

Ten applications in, the details blur: which recruiter was at which company, whether you already followed up, when the next interview is. What you want is a list, one line per application, that Claude keeps up to date and you can open on your phone before a call.

Yes, with Pando added to Claude as a custom connector: Claude writes each application as a bullet under a Job search bullet, its stage as a tag such as #applied or #interview, the contacts in the note, and each follow-up as a to-do with its date on the line. When you ask what is waiting, Claude searches that branch and drafts the follow-ups for you to send; Pando itself sends none of them.

Set it up

  1. Open claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, then Customize, then Connectors, then click + and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Give it the address https://pando.ink/mcp and approve it when Claude sends you back to Pando.

Claude Free allows one custom connector, so on Free, Pando takes that place. If the Add custom connector dialog has two steps, choose Sign in now under Authentication; under OAuth client, the option marked recommended and Register automatically both work. When Pando asks, choose Read and write your outline, or choose Read your outline only and hold Claude to Job search, as under What Claude reaches, before you ask it to write. Switch Pando on in each chat from the + button at the lower left, under Connectors. Pando has not been tried from Claude’s phone app, so talk to Claude at a computer and open the list on the phone at pando.ink/app.

What the list looks like

Make a bullet called Job search, then ask in plain words: “Add Northwind, Data Analyst, under Job search in Pando, tagged #applied, with the details in the note. I applied on 2026-09-08 and the recruiter is Mia Lang. Add a follow-up to Mia on 2026-09-22 under it, as a todo, with the date on the line, and write dates as YYYY-MM-DD.” A few applications later, the branch looks like this:

• Job search
    • Northwind, Data Analyst #applied
note: Applied 2026-09-08. Recruiter: Mia Lang.
☐ Follow up with Mia Tue, 22 Sep 2026
    • Contoso, Product Analyst #interview
note: Hiring manager: Sam Ortiz. Referred by Priya.
        ☐ Send the thank-you note Thu, 24 Sep 2026
        ☐ Second round, video Tue, 29 Sep 2026 14:00
    • Fabrikam, BI Lead #rejected

Each application is a plain bullet with its stage as a tag at the end of the line. The sidebar’s Tags section counts each tag, and a tap searches for it from the bullet you are in. When a stage changes, Pando lets Claude swap the tag without touching the rest of the line. Choose stage names that do not begin with one another: a tag search also finds longer tags, so #interview finds #interviewed.

Each follow-up is its own to-do, because a to-do does not make the bullets under it to-dos. Ask for dates as YYYY-MM-DD, the only form Pando reads as a date; the phone then shows Tue, 22 Sep 2026, washed red once the day has passed.

What is waiting

Ask Claude what is waiting in your job search. With Job search as its focus, it can search for these two:

layout:todo is:incomplete date-before:tomorrow
#applied

The first finds every open follow-up dated today or earlier; the second, every application still waiting for an answer, with its note, so Claude has the recruiter’s name when it drafts. The same queries work in Pando’s search box: open Job search and type them.

Keep every date on the line: a word in a note is found, but date-before: reads only the line, so a follow-up dated only in its note never shows up as due.

What Claude reaches

Either level on Pando’s consent page starts Claude on your whole outline. To hold it to the job search, open Job search, open Agents and API keys in Settings, tap Claude’s row under Your agents (@claude, or @claude-2 and up if you connected Claude before), and press Let it reach only “Job search”, the bullet you are in. It then reads and writes Job search and everything under it, even after a read-only approval, and reaches nothing else. What it remembers lands there too, among the applications.
