ChatGPT that can write into your project notes
ChatGPT can read files you paste and remember things about you. What it usually cannot do is write into the place you actually keep your project, because most note apps either have no agent door at all or have one that runs on your own machine.
Yes: Pando is a hosted MCP server, so ChatGPT connects over OAuth and writes into your outline, and a Free account did so in a test on 23 September 2026.
Set it up
- On a computer, open ChatGPT on the web, then Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. The phone app cannot do this step.
- Go to Plugins, select +, and create one with https://pando.ink/mcp under Connection.
- Approve the connection when ChatGPT sends you back to Pando. After that, ChatGPT reaches Pando on your phone too.
OpenAI’s own pages still list only paid plans for developer mode, and one of them says Pro may only read. On a Free account, set up on a computer on 23 September 2026, ChatGPT connected and wrote a bullet into the outline; after that it reached Pando from the phone too. What your account offers may differ, so ask ChatGPT to add one bullet and look.
What it can touch, and what it cannot
- One bullet of your outline, which you choose, as its own memory.
- Every other bullet too, read and write or read only, as you chose when you approved it, until you hold it to one bullet with Let it reach only on its row under Agents and API keys. A bullet you protect still refuses every change from it.
- Every key is listed in the app with what it is and whether it has been used, and any of them can be revoked in one press.
When it writes, its chip pulses in your top bar and the bullet appears on your screen. Nothing is written invisibly.
Using more than one assistant
Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT can all work in the same branch at once. That is the part a per-vendor memory cannot do: what one of them wrote on Tuesday, another reads on Friday, and you can read all of it yourself in between.
Getting it back out
Markdown, OPML, a spreadsheet, formatted text, or a backup of the whole account, at any time, without asking anybody. None of those formats needs Pando to be readable.
That is tested rather than asserted. Every run of our test suite exports a whole account through the public door, imports it into a different empty account, exports that one, and compares the two files byte for byte. On 22 September 2026 the reading was 1,267 bytes of OPML and 567 bytes of Markdown, out of two accounts, identical.
