An agent inbox in your own notes

Claude and Pando, for agent inbox.

An agent that works for an hour will hit two or three things only you can do: a key you hold, a decision that is yours, a payment nobody else can authorise.

In a chat window those stop the work until you come back, and by the time you do, the session has ended and the context with it.

It writes the ask into your outline as a task and carries on with everything that does not depend on the answer, so the question is waiting for you rather than holding up the work.

Set it up

  1. Open claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, then Customize, then Connectors, then click + and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Give it the address https://pando.ink/mcp and approve it when Claude sends you back to Pando.

The shape of a good ask

Four levels, and each one answers a different question. The line is the decision and what it costs you in minutes. The note is why it has to be you. The children are the steps, one thing each. Each child’s note carries the detail that stops that step going wrong.

- Approve the migration plan (5 min, reply GO or STOP)
note: Why: the index rebuild locks writes for about 40 seconds.
Reversible: the old index is kept until you confirm.
Alternative was an online rebuild, six times slower.
  - Read the plan at docs/migrations/2026-09-index.md
  - Reply GO or STOP in the chat

A person scanning ten bullets reads ten lines and no notes, so the line has to carry the decision and the cost. Everything else goes underneath.

Why it has to outlive the session

Every other way an agent asks you is bound to a live session or to somebody else’s workspace. The Model Context Protocol’s own elicitation is nested inside a request in flight and dies with the retry loop. An approval in a chat tool lives in that chat. A bullet waits until you are back, whether that is tonight or Thursday.

And because Pando is hosted rather than a local bridge, the agent can leave the ask while your laptop is shut. Checked against the alternatives on 22 September 2026: Workflowy’s MCP server runs inside its desktop app and that app has to stay open, Anytype’s binds to 127.0.0.1, and Tana Outliner’s to localhost:8262.

What you do with it

Tick the box. The agent watches the same branch, and a ticked box is the answer: it picks the work back up from there. Nothing waits in a scrollback nobody opens.
