Claude on your phone, with your own notes
Two days before Lisbon, the plan is in your notes and you are on a train with only your phone. Claude is on it too, and what you want is to ask it where Friday’s dinner is, or to add the thing you just remembered, without opening a laptop.
If your notes are in Pando, add Pando to Claude once on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, and Anthropic’s help says the connector is then available in Claude for iOS and Android the next time you sign in there. Claude’s phone app has not yet been tried against Pando, for reading or for writing, so a line you need to be right while you are out is one you check or change in Pando yourself.
Set it up
- Open claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, then Customize, then Connectors, then click + and choose Add custom connector.
- Give it the address https://pando.ink/mcp and approve it when Claude sends you back to Pando.
Do this on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop. Anthropic calls adding a connector in the phone app "currently in beta" and says "Claude Desktop and web remain the primary path for custom connectors." On Claude Free, which allows one custom connector, Pando takes that place.
What carries over to the phone
- Anthropic says: "Remote connectors work across all Claude surfaces." A connector added on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop "will be available to use the next time you log in to your account on Claude for iOS or Android."
- Not tried yet: Claude’s phone app against Pando, for reading or for writing.
One trip, in the outline
Pando itself is a web page, pando.ink/app, and once you put it on the home screen it opens without the browser around it. You sign in with Google or with a link Pando emails you. A list Claude wrote at the computer with the todo layout is a list of boxes there:
- Lisbon, 14 to 17 October
- [x] Book the flat near Graça
- [ ] Airport to the flat: Metro red line, then green
- [ ] Friday dinner, Ana’s tip
note: the tasca two streets up from the flat, book by Thursday
- [ ] Spare battery for the camera
Asked on the phone where Friday’s dinner is, Claude would search your outline, find that line and read its note. That is the step not yet tried against Pando. Ticking a box and fixing the Metro line if it turns out wrong do not depend on it: you do both by hand, in Pando, on the same phone.
What Claude reaches
Pando’s consent page, headed Connect Claude?, offers Read and write your outline or Read your outline only, and at either level Claude starts on your whole outline. If reading is all you want, choose read only. A box beneath, ticked by default, gives it a bullet under Home to remember in, where it may write even at read only.
To hold it to one bullet, open that bullet, open Agents and API keys in Settings, tap Claude’s row under Your agents, and press Let it reach only “…”, the bullet you are in. It then reads and writes that bullet and everything under it, even if you approved it to read only, and reaches nothing else. A bullet you protect refuses every change from Claude, and so does everything under it; a lock stops changes, not reading.
When this is not the answer
- You only want Claude to know you: your preferences, how you like answers. Its own memory does that with no setup, on by default for Free, Pro and Max on the web, in Claude Desktop and in the phone app.
- Your notes live in another app and should stay there. This connects Claude to Pando, not to that app, so look for that app in Claude’s Connectors Directory. To bring the notes over instead, Settings, then Import a file…, takes a Markdown, OPML, plain text, CSV or TSV file.
