A shopping list Claude writes and you tick
Halfway through planning the weekend with Claude, you remember the eggs are gone. Claude can note that in the chat, but in the shop the chat is not where you look. What you want is one list that Claude adds to when you mention something and that you tick off in the aisle.
Yes, if the list lives in Pando: with Pando added to Claude as a custom connector, Claude adds each item under a Shopping bullet as a to-do, you tick them off in Pando on your phone in the shop, and the next time you ask, Claude reads which are still open. Pando sends no reminder about the list, so it waits until you open it or ask Claude about it.
Set it up
- Open claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, then Customize, then Connectors, then click + and choose Add custom connector.
- Give it the address https://pando.ink/mcp and approve it when Claude sends you back to Pando.
Claude Free allows one custom connector, so on Free, Pando takes that one place. If your Add custom connector dialog has two steps, choose Sign in now under Authentication; under OAuth client, the option marked recommended and Register automatically both work. Pando’s consent page offers Read and write your outline or Read your outline only, and either one starts Claude on your whole outline. To give it the list and nothing else, make a bullet called Shopping, open it, open Agents and API keys in Settings, tap Claude’s row under Your agents, and press Let it reach only “Shopping”, the bullet you are in. From then on Claude reads and writes Shopping and everything under it, even after a read-only approval, and reaches nothing else. Anything it remembers lands among the items too.
In each chat where Claude should use the list, switch Pando on: the + button at the lower left, then Connectors. Anthropic says a connector added on the web or in Claude Desktop "will be available to use the next time you log in to your account on Claude for iOS or Android". Whether that reaches Pando has not been tried, so plan on adding items through Claude at a computer, and on the phone, tick and add them in Pando itself. Pando runs in the phone’s browser at pando.ink/app, and added to the home screen it opens like an app.
What it looks like
Ask in plain words, and say as to-dos: “Add oat milk, 10 eggs, coffee beans and bin bags to my Shopping list, as to-dos.” That matters because the box belongs to each item, so Shopping stays a plain bullet and every line under it gets its own box. After one tick in the shop, the list looks like this on your phone, the ticked line struck through and greyed:
• Shopping
☐ Oat milk
☐ 10 eggs
☑ Coffee beans
☐ Bin bags
In the shop
Tap an item’s box, or swipe its row to the right, and it is ticked: struck through, greyed, and still in its place. A swipe to the left brings in three buttons instead: Select, Complete and Bullet. Press Enter after a to-do and the new line is a to-do as well, so what you add in the aisle gets a box too. Hide, further along the bottom bar, hides every ticked line in your outline, not only in Shopping, until you press it again.
Next time
Ask Claude, in a chat where Pando is switched on, what is still on the list. Claude sees which items are ticked, so it can tell you what you still have to buy.
Sharing it
Open Share… in Shopping’s menu, type the other person’s address under Or invite somebody by email, and press Invite them to edit. Pando sends no mail: it gives you a link to pass on yourself, and the invitation becomes theirs the next time they sign in with that address, so somebody already signed in to Pando signs out and in again. From then on, what either of you ticks or adds, and what Claude adds, shows up on both screens without a refresh while Pando is open.
Where this is not the answer
- A list that reminds you. Pando never starts Claude, and nothing in Pando fires when you pass a shop. AnyList, a shopping app, lists "Get reminders when you’re near a store".
- Aisles and stores. AnyList lists "Increase shopping efficiency with stores and filters". Pando’s Sort what is under it orders a list by its words, a date, done or age, never by store or aisle.
- Claude knowing your habits. Its own memory is on by default on Free, Pro and Max and needs no setup, but it is not a list anyone ticks.
