Recipes Claude writes into your notes, to cook from your phone

Claude and Pando, for a recipe box.

You work a dish out with Claude: what is left in the fridge, what replaces the cream, whether it fits into half an hour. The recipe is one you would make again, and it stays in that conversation. At the stove you want it with your other notes, the ingredients to tick and the steps in order, on the phone.

Yes, when you ask it to and your notes are in Pando: with Pando added to Claude as a custom connector, Claude writes the recipe as a bullet under Recipes, the ingredients as to-dos you can tick on a shopping run and the steps as a numbered list. You cook from the same outline on your phone at pando.ink/app.

Set it up

  1. Open claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, then Customize, then Connectors, then click + and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Give it the address https://pando.ink/mcp and approve it when Claude sends you back to Pando.

Claude Free allows one custom connector, so on Free, Pando takes that place. If the dialog has two steps, either choice under OAuth client works, the one marked recommended included. When Pando asks, choose Read and write your outline. Then make a bullet called Recipes, so Claude has a place to write and you have one to hold it to, and in each chat switch Pando on from the + button, under Connectors.

What Claude writes

Ask in plain words, and name the shape, because whether Claude picks the boxes and the numbers by itself has not been tried:

Write this recipe into Pando under my bullet Recipes:
the dish as one bullet with the time in its note, and
under the dish a bullet Ingredients with each ingredient
as a todo and a bullet Method with each step as numbered.

On the phone the recipe then reads:

• Recipes
    • Shakshuka for two
      note: 25 min, one pan
        • Ingredients
            ☐ 4 eggs
            ☐ 1 tin tomatoes
            ☐ 1 onion
            ☐ 1 red pepper
            ☐ Cumin
            ☐ Feta
        • Method
            1. Soften onion and pepper, 8 min
            2. Add cumin and tomatoes, simmer 10 min
            3. Make four hollows, crack in the eggs, cover 6 min
            4. Crumble the feta over

The box and the number belong to each line, so Ingredients and Method stay plain, and the steps count from 1 by themselves. The steps go in as bullets rather than in a note, because on the phone a note shows one line until you open it. To add a line yourself, type [] or 1. and a space on an empty line; Enter after one starts another of the same.

Cooking from the phone

Open pando.ink/app in the phone’s browser and sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email. Added to the home screen, Pando opens without the browser bars. On the shopping run, tap an ingredient’s box or swipe its row to the right, and it is struck through and greyed in place. At the stove the same swipe strikes through a step, so you can see where you are.

For next time, open Ingredients and press Tick, the button right after Hide (or Show) further along the bottom bar, then do the same in Method. It ticks everything directly under the bullet you are in while any of it is open, and unticks it all once all of it is ticked, so press it twice if some are still open. Hide hides ticked lines across your whole outline, not only in this recipe.

Anthropic says a connector added on the web or in Claude Desktop “will be available to use the next time you log in to your account on Claude for iOS or Android”, but Claude’s phone app reaching Pando has not been tried. So ask Claude for recipes at the computer, and cook from Pando in the phone’s browser.

What Claude reaches

A connector you approve on Pando’s consent page starts with your whole outline, read and write or read only. To hold Claude to your recipes, open Recipes, open Agents and API keys in Settings, tap Claude’s row under Your agents, and press Let it reach only “Recipes”, the bullet you are in. It then reads and writes Recipes and everything under it, even after a read-only approval, reaches nothing else, and remembers there.

Where this is not the answer

This page is for the recipes you mean to cook again, kept with the rest of your notes.
