An idea inbox ChatGPT fills and you review each week
An idea turns up halfway through a ChatGPT conversation about something else: a talk you could give, a name for the side project, a tool to try. ChatGPT answers, the conversation moves on, and a month later the idea sits in a chat you will not scroll back through.
In your outline, with Pando: add Pando to ChatGPT once, on the web at a computer, and in a chat there ask it to file each idea as a bullet under Ideas, then Inbox, with one line in the note on why it came up. Once a week you open Inbox in Pando, on your phone or at the computer, and keep, move or delete each idea.
Set it up
- On a computer, open ChatGPT on the web, then Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. The phone app cannot do this step.
- Go to Plugins, select +, and create one with https://pando.ink/mcp under Connection.
- Approve the connection when ChatGPT sends you back to Pando. After that, ChatGPT reaches Pando on your phone too.
Then make a bullet called Ideas with a bullet called Inbox inside it, so ChatGPT has a place to file into. When Pando asks, choose Read and write your outline, or hold ChatGPT to Ideas as below. In a chat, OpenAI’s guide says to choose Developer mode from the + menu and select the app, and that write actions “by default require confirmation”, so expect ChatGPT to ask before it files.
What you ask, and what you see
File the ideas from this chat in Pando under Ideas, then Inbox. One bullet per idea: the idea in one short line, and one sentence in the note on why it came up.
Ask for the note every time: the line is the idea, the note is why it mattered, the part a week erases. New ideas land at the end of Inbox, and each note shows as one line under its idea until you open it:
Ideas
Inbox
A talk on restoring backups, for the local meetup
Came up while you fixed the photo archive.
A paper notebook for meetings
You could not reconstruct Tuesday’s decisions.
A room at the library for the reading group
From planning the autumn dates.
The weekly review
Pando runs in the phone’s browser at pando.ink/app, and added to the home screen it opens without the browser bars. Sign in with Google, or have a link sent to your email. Open Inbox and go down the list:
- Keep it: leave it in Inbox for next week.
- Move it: swipe the row left, press Bullet, scroll down to Move to…, and tap the bullet it belongs under in the list, or type a word of it in the box first.
- Delete it: swipe the row left, press Bullet, then Delete, the red first row. One tap deletes it, with no question asked.
A search in Pando looks only inside the bullet you have open, so with Inbox open, changed:7 days ago lists what arrived or was edited since the same day last week, and changed:<2 weeks ago the ideas nobody has touched for more than two weeks.
What ChatGPT reaches
A connector you approve on Pando’s consent page starts with your whole outline, read and write or read only. To hold ChatGPT to your ideas, open Ideas, open Agents and API keys in Settings, tap @chatgpt under Your agents (@chatgpt-2 and up if you connected it before), and press Let it reach only “Ideas”, the bullet you are in. It then reads and writes Ideas and everything under it, even after a read-only approval, and reaches nothing else. What it remembers lands under Ideas from then on, beside Inbox rather than among the ideas, which is why the press goes on Ideas; its first memory bullet under Home stays there, out of its reach.
Where this is not the answer
- ChatGPT knowing you. Its own memory needs no setup: “When Memory is enabled, ChatGPT can remember relevant preferences and details from your chats and other available sources.” ChatGPT decides what is relevant, and OpenAI’s FAQ answers “Does the memory summary include everything ChatGPT remembers?” with “No.” It shapes ChatGPT’s answers; it is not a list you go through and clear.
- A reminder on review day. Pando never starts ChatGPT and sends no reminder about the inbox, so the review happens when you open Inbox. ChatGPT’s scheduled tasks “can handle reminders, recurring work, daily updates, and monitoring”, on Free too, and one created in the phone app can send a push notification. Whether a task can read Pando is not established, so let it remind you, not review for you.
- Filing ideas from the phone. After a setup on a computer, ChatGPT used Pando from a phone, measured on a Free account on 23 September 2026, but whether it can write from the phone app is not established: the only reports, from November 2025, said writes were disabled there. On the go, type the idea into Inbox yourself.
